Our Annual Meeting is returning with a new time and location!
Annual Meeting & Luncheon
Saturday, December 3, 2022
Oxford Rec. Center
223 King St, Oxford, ME 04270
Join us for crowd favorite comfort foods, entertainment, and a Ticket Auction – just in time for the holidays!
Our Annual Meeting celebrates the accomplishments of the district, our volunteers, and our community partners. Starting at 12:30pm, there will be time for visiting, followed by a lunch of crowd favorite comfort foods, entertainment, awards, and a ticket auction. After a two year hiatus we are thrilled to be gathering together once more!
The Food: We will be serving a smorgasbord of cold weather delights, including chili, mac & cheese, and other treats. We will have options for omnivores, vegetarians/vegans, and gluten sensitive folks!
The Entertainment: Scott Vlaun from CEBE, Center for an Ecology Based Economy, will be joining us to give a talk about food, climate, and agroforestry!
About Scott Vlaun:
As an activist and father, Scott sees a profound need to rapidly relocalize and solarize our economy to help future generations and wild nature thrive in the face of increasing climate instability and resource depletion. Scott is a professional photographer and writer and spent many years documenting the organic seed movement. He also teaches and practices permaculture design, builds with local timber, and worked for many years as a market gardener. He lives off the grid in Otisfield where he still grows gardens with his neighbors and friends, paddles with the beavers on Moose Pond, and skis his ever expanding trail network every chance he gets.
The Ticket Auction: Included in the afternoon’s entertainment will be a Ticket Auction of items donated by local businesses. In the past items have included gift cards, passes, baskets, local baked goods, and more – this is a perfect opportunity to snag an awesome holiday gift for yourself or a loved one! Each registered person will receive 5 tickets for the Ticket Auction with the cost of admission. Additional tickets will be available to purchase when you arrive for 5.00/20 tickets.
All funds raised from this event go directly towards supporting the work we do in Oxford County, including offering nature based educational opportunities to families and protecting healthy soil and water for all.
We’d love to have you join us!
